Ascension Theological College

Introduction: Ascension Theological College is the ordination program of the Ascension Alliance. It is a non-accredited institution, operating legally with religious exempt status in the state of Washington. It strives to offer a high-quality, highly decentralized, program of study to prepare future "barefoot priests" and ministers.

Description of the Program: Offers aspirants to the priesthood with a full range of courses in the required fundamental areas of knowledge. Students negotiate a learning covenant with their formation committee that allows the maximum possible flexibility in learning venues, depending on the interests of the student and learning resources available in their local area. Candidates who already have an M.Div degree from an accredited institution, three years of ministry experience, and who are engaged in active ministry may be admitted to study at the doctoral level. The faculty includes talented professors, clergy, and spiritual directors.

Degrees Awarded: The college can lawfully grant college credits and award the following degrees: B.D, Bachelor of Divinity, M.Div, Master of Divinity, and D.Min, Doctor of Ministry.
